Hi,
I don't know anything about your John Foster, but your lettter caught my
eye because Our Joel Foster was born in Indiana in 1835. We think probably
in Orange Co., There is a Joel on the 1840 and 1850 census in Orange Co
there possibly his father? . Our Joel married Sarah E. Smith who was born
in Orange Co., Indiana in 1837. We don't know where they were married. Her
parents were James T. and Spicey Jane Daughtery Smith, both born in Ohio, he
in 1807 and she in 1812. We think @ Felicity or at least in Clay or Clermont
Co.. This is the long way around but there may be a lead in the Clay or
Clermont area to your Daughtery and who knows maybe your Foster. As far as
we can determine our Joel never lived in Ohio.but the family moved from
Indiana to Illinois after 1850 then who knows where until they were in Linn
Co Kansas in 1870.
Sincerely Lenda McGuire
