OK Ms. Montgomery,
I must rise up and defend those of us of supposed Scot ancestry. My
siblings and myself were all born with light hair. Grew to brown as we
aged. My mustache was red, though and my hair had those reddish
highlights. My father and grandfather had dark hair, most of which stayed
the course. My mother was Irish, out of Australia. We were all blue-eyed.
There is a tradition that we came from Scotland, by way of Ireland, which
would fit with the "removals" to Ulster and thence to America.
Unfortunately, I haven't found much on my family. My father's birth
certificate only says that his father was from NY state. Not much to go
on, I'm afraid.
I have had a lot of fun with this site. Although, I cannot unsubscribe
(I'm not really here, according to the webmaster), I wouldn't mind a break.
Meanwhile, you all keep it up. It looks like some really good stuff is
coming to light. - c
