Maybe we should compare the information we both have. My brick wall is
young enough to be your Thomas' son. Permelia had a sister named Elizabeth,
and one named MAry after their mother, and she had a brother named John,
after her father. (J.C.) Permelia named her sons Thomas, James, and John C.
which I have always assumed was also after her father and so I guessed the
other names to have been after family members as well. I have also
suspected that Permelia's husband might have come up north from MS. At the
very least he has to be related to a family group in MS based on naming
patterns. Mary was born in OH. The census says that J.C. was born in IL.
PErmelia was born in IL, one sibling was born in WI and the rest in IL but
right before the family moved to MO. They seemed very mobile. They all
appeared in the 1860 St. Charles Co., Mo census and are on the 1840
Jefferson Co., IL census. That is all I have, other than MAry's sister
moved to MO and was living with them in 1860 as well. She is listed as Mrs.
Stewarts and she had a daughter named Julia. They were listed as being from
OH as well. What all do youknow about your group? Donna

My ggggrandfather was Thomas Foster b. around 1800, I also have been told of
Indian blood in our family. My father and his brothers and sister all have
dark brown complexion. Not sure where Thomas was born, just that he married
a Elizabeth ?.Been at this brick wall for over a year now.
