Darn it..its in French....my ancestors go back to 1791 Frome,Somerset and we cannot track them back. My mom's fathers name was Cuzner which is not really English. When I travelled in Europe everyone would thought I was German which I am not. I have a distant relative who belongs to a one name study guild for the name. There is some hint it could be Huguenot. I have heard some stories it goes back to Alsace which is why I am researching Alsace. No one can figure out the origins of Cuzner. During ww2, the English thought my family might be Germans because of the name sounding German! Also have heard Cousinier and other French versions of the name. Also heard rumors of a small country or maybe it was a village that started with a C near Germany that disappeared with one of the wars with Cuzners..but maybe it was a S. Does anyone have any ideas?????
