Good day, Shirley.

I have copied here to you an e-mail I sent in response to a similar query.
As to the mechanics of the correction, when you view your files there is a
button to *Update* and you can do the correction there on the FreeBMD site.

I am certainly prepared to have another look at the entry that I
transcribed as below, if only you could be more specific. Is this a birth
or a marriage? And in which year? I have rather a lot of entries to
search through otherwise!

Please also remember that our rules on FreeBMD are that we must transcribe
what we see, so if, after looking at the document - which is not the
original - I still cannot be sure of what you so obviously *know*, I will
have to mark the 5th letter of the forename as an uncertain character.

When the project enters the second phase of double keying (entering again
all the records by different transcribers and from different sources) the
discrepancy may well be cleared.

I look forward to hearing from you again with the event type and date.

Best wishes,

Please note, though, that queries of this type should be on the Admins
list, not the Discuss list, so if there are any further questions please
post them to the Admins List.

Best wishes,

Anne Cruise
