Hi Andrew.
AS I understand it (and I have actually transcribed some with full stops)
it is when an entry has a clear full stop. Eg
Mills, William Albert. Cheltenham .............6a 424.
If you look at death scans for 1866 (one I did was 1866 deaths Jan p47) you
can clearly see the full stop after the Christian name. They are a total
pain to put in as you type and it is easier (and quicker) to tab down the
column at the end adding full stops where necessary
