Check BMD or the indexes at FRO (family record Offices) for the details of
your grandmother's birth and order the birth certificate. This will give you
the parent's names and occupation of the father. You can then search on
FreeBMD for the marriage of the parents. You may find other sites such as
www.familysearch.org and www.1837online.co.uk useful. If you check census
records (www.census.pro.gov.uk) you will find details of address, brothers
sisters and occupations of residents in the house. Hope you find this useful
I should also point out that this list is not really for enquiries such as
yours, as it is a list for transcribers to FreeBMD to air and discuss views
about the way the project is going.
