Just do something that is consistent in some way.
What I want, and at the moment I am assuming that when somebody using WINBMD
transcribing from printed pages and enters the page number, that gets
transferred to the +PAGE bit.
If it Don't then I've got lots of files with incorrect page numbers.
As I have renamed them into my system, that means I have got to go through
all 1000 files that I have pending for my database to check that the correct
number is entered after the +PAGE, in the first line..
SNAFU, in the coarsest sense.
Regards
John

and BATCH. For an obscure reason (which I can't remember but someone
requested) the value entered in BATCH becomes the value on the first +PAGE
line so that if you enter on the header Page=1, Batch=25 then the first line
would be +PAGE,25 and the file would be called 1876M10001.BMD ie the 1 from
the +PAGE entry goes into the filename. But this is hopeless! The problem
is that if someone transcribes that file, Saves it, then selects the Film
Menu - "Start new Batch" - the batch number is incremented so that the first
line becomes +PAGE,26 but the Page values stays at 1 so the filename renames
the same and promptly gets overwritten!!

syndicates work so I don't know what is best. Please can anyone using
Film/Fiche give some suggestion(s) on how they would like this to work.
