I sent the response relating to scan quality to my transcribers who had
complained about it and this was the response I received from one of them.
Bear in mind that he is one of my best transcribers, does about 25% of the
work that the team does between them and is highly error free when compared
with some of the others.

I am seriously thinking of trying to get another quarter and requesting that
this whole quarter be re-scanned before we attempt to continue with it. I
will look at the more recent scans to compare the quality if somebody can
point me at a quarter that is more representative of the current quality.

The response I got was:

Clive,

I understand the argument OK but they seem to have missed a vital point.

If the transcribers are get p*****d off and stop transcribing - the project
goes nowhere.

If the project goes nowhere then the "customers" will get p*****d off and
stop using the service.

I see little point in allowing poor scans to be available to "customers" if
they can't read the damn things.

As a transcriber I can now "decode" things that my wife with a one-shot look
cannot interpret - so how does that stack up with customers reading scans???

There is no point in getting to a destination quickly only to find it is not
where you wanted to go!!!!

Anyway,

Now that is off my chest I'll carry on

All the best

Keith
