Dave has just beat me to responding in a like fashion.
I did however respond a short while ago to Derek Lowe's email (which was
along a similar line to yours) without first seeing Dave's comments. My
response to Derek was not too far removed from Dave's comments below.
Neither of my earlier emails devalued the superb work done by all our
Co-ordinators and should not be construed to the contrary.
Perhaps a reread of my two earlier emails on this topic of "+PAGE's for
double page scans" will reinforce my point.
As an aside, in your original email you did mention "Perhaps, following the
current trend towards automation at
FreeBMD, we could just get rid of the human element entirely". As far as I
am concerned this couldn't be further from the truth, as I spend many hours
a day in dialogue with volunteers or co-ordinators regarding incorrect files
on the system. The vast majority of these error files I find by running
Upload Reports to which all Co-ordinators have access to.
