Thanks for this info, there is no doubt that 1865 Deaths June do not have
any dates of death shown

And you are in part right about SpeedBMD when you said "Having tried out

March 1865 onward but if you tab through AAD it automatically puts in a ?
which is correct if a field should be present but isn't there." It will
ONLY work if you enter a ? in the AAD column with the first line of data.
The crux of the matter is that you use a ? when data is missing. This would
apply to a single field with a gap in a column, here there is no columns for
AAD ergo no data is missing. We haven't tried uploading yet!!
