Subject: [FREEMAN-L] Freeman in Dublin, Ireland

I'm looking for information on a Freeman family that was Anglo/Irish (C of E
rather than RC) living in or near Dublin. I have a silver cup that Richard D.
(believe it was Deanne) Freeman won in a foot race at Dublin University in
1886. I also have some silver forks with a lion "crest" (probably not the
official heraldic term) on them that belonged to him. I know that he became a
physician on a ship that had a fire and had to dock in the US for repairs,
when he decided to stay. He eventually settled in Essex County (South
Orange?) NJ, married and had Margaret, Kathleen, Eileen, and Deanne (Richard
Deanne), and then divorced their mother, married another woman, and moved up
the street but stayed in the area.
I've been told that sometime in the last 50 years, someone went back to Dublin
and learned that the family's home had been converted to flats or townhouses
or condos. Can anyone offer leads or clues?
