While the list seems active, I thought I'd try again for a connection. I'm looking for my father's side.

My ggrandfather was John Wesley Jr. Freeman. Born on 28 Apr 1876 in WV. John Wesley Jr. died in West Columbia, Mason, West Virginia on 9 Jul 1972, he was 96. On 2 Aug 1897 he married Mary Evalina Jackson, daughter of Jno Jackson & Viola. Born abt 1880. Mary Evalina died in New Cumberland, WV in Oct 1943, she was 63.
They had the following children:

i. Russell Wesley (1904-1958) (my grandfather)

ii. Edward. Born on 27 Nov 1902. Edward died in Meigs, OH in Mar 1973, he was 70.

iii. Gerlie E.. Born on 2 Jun 1913. Gerlie E. died in New Cumberland, WV on 2 Apr 1996, he was 82.

iv. Gaynell.

v. Rotha.

vi. Concella "Connie".

vii. Anvil/Avril A./Auvil. Born app 1899 in Jackson County, West Virginia.

viii. Romie C. (1900-1977)

ix. Elda. Born on 12 Sep 1910 in WV. Elda died in New Cumberland, WV in Feb 1981, he was 70.

x. Erma.

xi. Euba.


Russell Wesley Freeman. Born on 21 May 1904 in Jackson County, West Virginia. Russell Wesley died in Jan 1958, he was 53.

In 1924 when Russell Wesley was 19, he married Velma Pearl Haning, daughter of Archibald Leroy Haning & Lizzie Parsons, in Jackson County, West Virginia. Born on 2 Jan 1908 in Belmont County. Velma Pearl died in Minerva, Ohio on 22 Aug 1991, she was 83.

They had the following children:

i. James Wesley (1937-) my father

ii. Ellen

iii. Virginia

Romie C. Freeman. Born on 17 Jan 1900 in Jackson County, West Virginia. Romie C. died on 24 Aug 1977, he was 77. Buried in Board Cemetary mouth of Joe's Run.

Romie C. married Alma Carter/Carder. Born abt 1900. Alma died in 1985, she was 85.

They had the following children:

i. Evelyn

ii. Clarence

iii. Geneva

iv. Lenora

v. Lorena

vi. Gerald

vii. Linda

viii. Melvin

I have also heard that according to Jackson County Past and Present, my gggrandfather is John Wesley Sr. Freeman. Born on 25 Mar 1824. John Wesley Sr. died on 3 Aug 1888, he was 64. Occupation: Timberman and helped build railroads.

John Wesley Sr. married Many Feathers.

They had the following children:

2 i. John Wesley Jr. (1876-1972)

ii. Willy.

iii. Harry.

iv. Mary Jane (?1832-)

v. Magdalena "Maggie"

If anyone can give me any information on ANY of these people to help me through the brick wall, I would be forever grateful. Even if you can confirm or deny any of it, I'd appreciated it.
