Thanks for your comments, Wanda. I think I'll buy the book. And you're
right when you say lineage needs to be proven for each individual research
project. God knows there is a ton of misinformation available on the
internet and in other sources. Unfortunately, some researchers have
published lineages based on assumptions and have incorrectly associated
individuals in certain families in order to bridge the proverbial "brick
wall". I'm sure most of the incorrect information is not intended to
mislead others but it does indeed have that effect when it is unproven.
Thanks again for your comments.

> I have the book JOHN FREEMAN OF NORFOLK COUNTY, VA, , His
Descendants in North Carolina and Virginia, And Other Colonial North
Carolina Freeman Families by Merrill Hill Mosher. It is very well written
with documentation included in footnotes. It is well indexed and I
especially liked the way she cited sources.
> There was an error with my particular line but this was not her direct
line and I could understand why she would not have researched that line in
depth as much as I. This concerned the lineage of Edward Freeman who died
in Franklin Co., N. C. in 1811, and a full discussion of this error can be
found on Steve Lawson's Freeman site.
> I would recommend this book, but as with any works, you need to prove
your lineage yourself and not take someone else's work as gospel.
