Freeman researchers and interested followers of our DNA project

We have had a couple of exciting events in our Freeman DNA project
that I want to fill you in on.

We have our first Freeman participant documented back to one of the
early New England Freeman family lines and just today we had a
kit sent out to our first participant from England.

I have been hoping against hope that we might "entice" descendants
from a wider spectrum of Freeman descendants to become part of
our quest for our early ancestors through the science of DNA...and
now the door has opened a crack.

Needless to say, Freeman was not a unique name in England....and
there is always that chance that our contributor will not match any
of the Freeman lines we currently have established profiles for...but
his earliest known ancestor was from Swindon only 30 miles from
Oxford and a little over 40 miles from Bensington (Benson) so a
possibility exists.

Many of us have a tradition that our ancestors were from Oxford/
Oxfordshire....and we may luck out and find a link back to a
member of our early ancestral line.

The test for our New England participant should be available any
time now...and it will probably be another month or two before
the results from our English participant becomes available. The
lab has been a little slow of late with some new personnel...and
of all things...a marriage. I'll keep you informed when any news
if forthcoming.

Thank you for your continuing interest in our quest for our roots
through our DNA project....and if you've been sitting on the
sidelines debating whether to join or not...now might be the time.
We've already been able to answer some questions and tie a few
back to their unknown roots. The more who become involved...the
greater the potential we have for breaking down a brick wall or two.

We have a total of sixteen tests completed and posted on our web
page, two more tests at the lab being analyzed and others that have
been sent out...but have not been returned as yet. I'd like to encourage
those who have received their kits to get your samples and get them
returned.

We stand on the brink of discovery...lets reach for its' potential.

Thanks,

BTW...I am sponsoring a family reunion in Nebraska in a few
weeks....and if I don't get back to you as promptly as I should
please understand. I'm up to my ears making final arrangements.
for that event. Hoping to bring back a sample or two for our
DNA project as well.<VBG>
