Hi Lonnie, I think it would be great if you could go to Montgomery Co. But
for me to tell you what to do, I don't have a clue. You need to look for
deeds of land, death certificates, birth certificates anything that could
tell you more about your people. Most important, is see the people at the
Genealogy Assn. and look at what they might have on the Freeman's in their
files. I really think that going to Mecklenburg Co. is a really good idea.
There was a David Freeman that settled there and also an Allen Freeman. I
am trying to find info on Allen, he might be a line for us. Also, there is
a possibility that we could be off the Freeman's of Moore Co. There was a
Rueben Freeman that settled there in l790. I have written and written and
just can't get anyone to respond that has info on these people. Also, there
were Freeman's in Chatham Co. that had the names of our Freeman's that came
to Montgomery. Same old story...no one seems to have any info. So as you
can tell, I'm totally confused as to where to start. Do you have the census
starting in l790 for Montgomery Co.? I will be glad to send you this if you
don't. This could really help in finding your people. Let me hear back,
and tell me what you feel you need, and if I have it, I will send the info
to you. Becky
