Here are excerpts from the opinions of people in comp.sys.mac.system:
================
I have tried many HTML editing tools, but so far the only one I have
come accross that was both usable and didn't crash was an app called
Wallaby.

The trouble I am having with any tool is that I am using CSS and I
don't think that markup should contain *any formatting* *whatsoever*.
Consequently, I resent the use of frames and tables.
[continues with reasons why]
==================
Currently, GoLive (now up to 6.0) and DreamWeaver have a lot of fans.

I've been using GoLive since it was CyberStudio, around v3.0, and now
using 6.0. Both of them do site management as well as plain-vanilla
WYSIWIG html.
===========================
I am still using a very old version of GoLive, which was once called
Cyberstudio "Personal" edition. This was a simplified version of GoLive
that was intended for individual users ...[snip]... no longer available,
but it
might be available used - maybe on ebay. I think it ran under 8.6,
although I'm not positive - it definitely runs with no problems under 9.

I wish something like this was still available. I have very limited
needs, ......[snip]
=======================
I was about to suggest Mozilla, because it's more or less what Karen
seemed to be describing. It provides a good, basic HTML editor that's
as much like WYSIWYG as possible. You can examine the raw HTML, but you
don't have to do so if you'd rather not. And, it's free.

It might be the only middle ground right now; not as full-featured (and
expensive) as applications like Dreamweaver, and at the same time not as
"raw" as direct HTML editing would be.
=============================
I dig PageSpanner a lot. It allows me to hardcode, but at the same time
use templates, plus the code is shown in syntax-coloring, which makes it
all very readable. Also, PageSpinner supports the latest HTML specs plus
CSS.
