Hi Forrest,

The RW counter recognizes a different IP addresse as a fresh "hit". If you
have an "always on" broadband web connection, then you have a static IP
address, and you won't be counted until someone with a different IP address
accesses your site.

If you use a dial-up connection, then your IP address changes each time you
connect to the internet, and you will be counted as a new visitor.

Regardless of which kind of connection you have, the RootsWeb counter can
NOT be set ignore a particular IP address. It just looks for one that is
different from the previous visitor.
