Hi! I am new to the list.

I am interested in Jean de La Fontaine and his descendants. Relatives of my
grandfathers generation are adamant that we are directly descended from him.
To my knowledge Jean (Jehan) and his wife only had one son prior to `living
apart'. Their son was Charles de La Fontaine. If anyone has knowledge of
any of their descendants I would love to hear from you.

Todate I have managed to find the name `Fountain' in my research. Elizabeth
Fountain married John Beeby in 1807 at Thorney Abbey in Cambridgeshire,
England. I have no knowledge of her parents or where the family came from -
or indeed if they are descended from Jean and Charles. From information
known they are of Huguenot descent but I need help or at least suggestions
on where to go from here. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
