I am a Fried by marriage, so I don't have any old family stories to tell.
Our Frieds were in Switzerland in early 1600's, then went to Wurttemberg,
which is now part of Germany, then to the Black Sea region in Russia, then
to North and South Dakota and Canada. I find it interesting that Fried is
both a Jewish and a Christian last name. I wonder if both had the same
ancestor way back when.
