What version of FTM? Recent versions allow children to be connected to a
single mother and also (different) children connected to a spouse if she
marries later.

I have one woman (living) connected to five known children without the
unknown partners for three of them, the husband at the time two were born or
the second husband who adopted two. The woman is connected to her own
relatives with a name variation.

If a child has multiple parents entered, the Exclude box for parent-child
relationships changes the look of charts when a file is compacted or split.
Best to enter just the birth parents or just the blended family.

For any data entry decisions, be sure to check the look of all reports and
