Laura's solution to the unwanted "spouseless relationship" is correct.
Selecting "spouseless relationship" as the spouse and Highlighting the empty
spouse field then hitting Delete will remove the unwanted "spouseless
relationship". This removes "spouseless relationship" from the list of
spouses, and will unlist "spouseless relationship" as a parent for the
children. This has worked for me with every Version of FTW up to and
including Version 11.

Russ Worthington's solution has no relevancy to the problem at all. The
number that he suggested, 66, must be a typo.
