To change the index to Maiden, first middle names, Open the Index, Click
Options and remove the check mark next to "Use married names for females."

Regarding your question about the application colors. FTM 16 no long
uses the FamilyPage Colors in the Ini file. The only control you have
is in the File: Preferences where you can use the Classic colors or use
the windows system colors.
