I'm assuming that you are using FTM 2008 to merge the census page found
on Ancestry.com. It sounds as though you merged the census with either
3 people each with one fact or one individual for three facts. If you
had done this in FTM 16, there would be three images in your file;
however, FTM 2008 handles it differently. FTM stores one copy of the
image page in the Image folder. It then links each fact to that one
image. Consequently in the Media work space you will find one image.
If you then Click Detail, you will find three links (one to each fact).
If this is not what you are describing, please correct me.
