Alan S is right.

Even following Courtney's rules (below) still leaves much to be desired with
indentation. For a small tree the limitation can be overcome creating Style
Rules (FTM2, FTM3 etc.) and with the judicious use of the formatting
paintbrush. Nothing comes easy does it?

You can change some of the things it does in FTMaker by going to "format,
tree format"

And, after you paste it into Word

go to Edit, replace

find
^t (That is the "code" for finding tabs

replace with
space (meaning a space, not the word space)

click replace all

If it's not right, click "edit, undo" or the "left curving arrow" on the
tool bar to undo it.

Above is just an example, you can replace the tabs with whatever you want to
make it look the way you want. In the find box, you will see "more, special"
buttons, that will give you the "codes" to seek out what you want to
replace.

Can anyone tell me how to move a descendant list from FTM 10 to MS Word
XP – while keeping the indenting and line spacing intact? A straight
copy loses the line spacing and other essential details.
