I keep my husband with his stepfather and that family. His biological father
died when he and his brother were very young. He never had any contact with
that family. His stepfather raised them both and was a wonderful father He
has a younger step sister and step brother. One day someone said to her.
"You know they are not your real brothers don't you?" "They are real
enough", was her reply. That family accepted/accepts the boys as their own.
No way he doesn't belong to them! I have him listed also with his
biological father with note of the step/adoption status. Anyone researching
can follow the trail. Until a few weeks, he had not wanted anyone researched
in the first family.

If the new spouse has had a "parental" relation to one or more of the
children, I always add those children to that "couple".
