Subject: Who is Capt J. B. Fuller of Greene Co., GA - 1865???
Date: Sun, 14 Aug 2005 13:31:48 -0400 (GMT-04:00)
While studying copies of the Greene County GA Deed Index; Vol "B" - 1839-1889,
I found a listing for a Capt. J. B. Fuller as either purchasing or selling property to/from Lieut. W. H. Fisher.
The date of "receipt" is May 8, 1865. Recorded Sept 20, 1865 in Deed Book "SS" on page 203?
Who is this Fuller??
If you recall - after the death of Elijah Fuller in 1824 - most of the family had moved away. Even son, John Browning Fuller (b. 1803 - d. 1885) had left and was enumerated in Meriwether Co., Census for the years of 1830, 1840, 1850 - then Opelika, Russell Co., LA for 1860 and 1870 (but because Lee Co., AL).
Who could this be??
ANother curious Fuller in Greene Co., land records was William Fuller who bought land in Greene Co., GA from a Thomas Grun?? June 14, 1798 (Deed book "3" page 328). I was under the impression that OUR Elijah Fuller went to Greene Co., GA alone - with no other Fullers but his family and members of the Browning family.
Was brother, William Fuller (b. abt. 1753 - d. abt. 1845) and married to Sarah Bradsher ever in Greene Co., GA??
I was under the impression he lived and died in Person Co., AL.
As you all know - Rada and I have been trying to connect Frederick Cone Fuller (b. 1825 - d. 1864 in Civil War) to our Fuller line for a long time now. Perhaps, Capt J.B Fuller was a brother to Frederick Cone Fuller...???
