There are people descending from Matthew FULLER b. March 6, 1745 & Martha ARNOLD b. March 7, 1748/49 who do not believe that Matthew's parents were Jonathan "John" FULLER & Elizabeth WISE (d. 1808). Elizabeth, Matthew's mother, is buried in the Hazzards Corners Baptist Cemetery at Triangle, Broome Co., NY. There is a "History of the Fuller Family as told to C. O. Fuller by Esther Fuller Kinney in the year 1896." In this history Esther (dau of Matthew & Martha) says that:
"Some time before the Revolutionary War, Jonathan FULLER and his wife, Elizabeth WISE FULLER, lived in Shaftsbury, Vermont. At one time they owned a farm of 220 acres on which the Village of Hoosick Falls was later built. He died in Otsego County, N.Y. in 1790 and was buried. Elizabeth died in Triangle, N.Y. about 1808 and was the first person buried in the Hazard's Corner Cemetery, where her grave was marked by a stone gotten in the fall gulf and marked "E. F." by her son, Matthew...."
This stone of Elizabeth's has since been replaced with a stone that reads "Elizabeth Fuller 1808". Since Esther was the one telling this story, it's hard to believe that she didn't know what she was talking about regarding her grandparents being Jonathan & Elizabeth (WISE) FULLER. Does anyone have proof that Jonathan & Elizabeth WISE FULLER were not Matthew's parents?
