Hi Tom,
Sorry. I hit the same wall that you did on the name origin. My list was derived from a handwritten note from one of my aunts who lives in Martinsburg PA.

However, I just typed Furre into the name search on this web site, and did come up with some other links to John (Johannes) Furre.

p.s. I think you and I are both related to Hedda Hopper.
