yes, to both ...

I think certainly a minimum.... We should have a Map of UK, showing the
districts on one of the pages...
I would have thought, for the large metropolitan areas and maybe
others, we would allow a general search on Groups of districts...
although, now I think about it, we would just be encouraging large
searches, which we are hitting a problem with at the moment...

I think, if we can, we should limit the number we -show-at one time and
a limit on the max. Records returned...
Unfortunately, just because we don't show them all doesn't mean the SQL
doesn't still request them all ... so we would still have the problem
unless we change the SQL in some way to split the searches down into
smaller searches (e.g. for a list of Smiths in 1839, we could do 26
searches of smith, a - smith, z and one for non-alpha first names.) Then
gather them together into the result...
If we show too many then the Copyright message will potentially be at
the bottom of a list of x hundred results... and never be seen ..
