Sheelagh and others,
I am very fortunate that I do have Printer, Flatbed Scanner and a Photo
Could I be of some useful assistance? I am retired and with some spare
but I'm not too mobile.
Any worthwhile suggestions?

I am in a similar position, no space, can't drive, no ready access etc etc.
I have time on my hands, not a lot of experience, but am willing to learn,
and I am willing to contribute to costs (providing they are reasonable). I
just need to find someone willing to make photocopies and mail them to me
so that I can get to work. I guess this is only going to happen when a
cheap way of obtaining photocopies becomes available - until then we will
just have to sit back and wait. Unless any one else has any good ideas.

PS If anyone has access to cheap photocopies, I am happy to purchase £10

In answer to those of you saying (or thinking) just get a second-hand
reader, they're so cheap ~ 1. I have not got the space for one in my home
matter how compact. 2. I would never be able to persuade my
husband to drive me somewhere to buy one or to let me have one even if we
had the space!
In answer to those who say use my local FHC I am living in a rural
don't drive and part 2 above would simiarly apply. I have got access via a
1hour bus journey to Oxford where there are fiche readers so it would make
sense for me to transcribe off
photocopies. I am considering whether it would be feasible to have a box
available in the library for people to contribute microfiche photocopies
then I would not be transcribing a given event or period and it may be too
