I am extremely pleased to say that my prediction for reaching the 5.5
million mark
was grossly off target.
Yes,yes we hit 5.57 million records on 11 January 2001.
Go and see for yourself at : http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/
I am now readjusting my predictions.
We are currently transcribing 28164 records
per day, which equates to 18 days for transcribing 0.5 million records.
My revised predictions are
6 million mark by 29 January 2001
10 million mark by 20 June 2001
15 million mark by 15 December 2001
100 million mark by 20 March 2010
We mustn't forget we are aiming to double the transcription rate in the near
future. So who isn't too say that we won't reach the 100 million mark
sometime in 2005.

My prediction for the New Year.
5.5 million mark by 23 January 2001 (+ or - 1 day)
6 million mark by 13 February 2001 (+ or - 2 days)
Basis of my prediction is that we are currently transcribing 24000 records
per day, which equates to 21 days for transcribing 0.5 million records.
We currently have 5 million records say as at 1 January 2001.
Add 21 days to 1 January 2001 gives 23 January 2001 for 5.5 million records.
Adding a further 21 days to 23 January gives 13 February 2001 for 6 million
records.
Then again statistics are not my strong subject.
