Subject: Transcribing outt of sequence surnames
Date: Wed, 12 Jan 2005 23:23:44 -0000

Hi Everyone,

The quality checking processes which are employed to ensure that all our
transcriptions are as accurate as possible have been identifying a number of
transcriptions where surnames have been incorrectly transcribed resulting in
out of sequences entries.

I would like to take this oppertunity to ask all transcribers to carefully
check any entries which cause your transcription program to generate an out
of sequence warning.

You should also be aware that the message is only a warning and if the
entries are indeed out of alphabetic sequence on the scan image, then you
should ignore the warning message and follow the Type What You See (TWYS)
rule.

If you have any queries regarding the above, then please feel free to
contact me at
or your syndicate
coordinator for further advice.

Thanks for all your efforts
