Subject: Full stops after forenames

I am fairly new to this transcribing lark so please excuse the question
if it is silly.

I know I must put a full stop in after a name if there is one. However,
in a long list of the same name, say William, I is very annoying to
find that the ones with the full stop seem always to alternate with the
ones without. This means that I can't just hit Tab to autocomplete the
next name.

Am I missing an easy way deal with these?
