Bill

Another volunteer has reported the same problem which I didn't fully appreciate until your comments
were received.

I ain't the expert on this particular aspect but looking at
http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/reg/lnd.htm and the WinBMD District File list and the FreeBMD District
list all show a common consistency on the use of Marylebone and Pancras (i.e. they both ceased
after 1901).

It therefore appears that WinBMD is working as intended.

I've checked out random scans 1914D1-P-0047.jpg/1914D1-P-0048.jpg and these show Marylebone and
Pancras which in theory ceased after 1901.

This seems to support the problems you are finding.

Perhaps one of my colleagues in the Alias team can offer their expert advice?

Allan Raymond

Hi Allan,

That's interesting and would explain the 'problems' I've had with Marylebone
and Pancras using WinBMD. I was wondering if it was me or a bug worth
reporting. If it's by design, however, than it doesn't seem to match the
actual usage of the districts as I quite often find it missing when the page
I'm transcribing is showing it.

I wonder if this 'feature' needs revisiting...
