Yvonne - such references normally come in the form "See Dec/34" - are you sure it is an apostrophe rather than a "/"? - would you like me to have a look at the scan? If so, can you send me the link as provided by Lesley?
If you are really sure it's an apostrophe, a number of possibilities occur to me for your transcription:
a. you could type "See Dec/34" and then add a #COMMENT line saying something like "Entry for page reads See Dec'34" - it is possible that WinBMD would allow an apostrophe against a comment line!
b. you could type See Dec/34 and upload it like that into the data base, and then go into Manage Your Files, open up the file, and then correct it to an apostrophe.
