How about this?
"3_{0,1}3"
Please see http://www.freebmd.org.uk/beginhelp.shtml scroll down to
Uncertain character format
{min, max} Repeat count - the preceding character occurs somewhere
between min and max times. max may be omitted, meaning there is no upper
limit. So _{1,} would be equivalent to *, and _{0,1} means that it is
unclear if there is any character. Ensure the complete field is enclosed in
quotes to avoid the comma being taken as a field separator, e.g.
"williams{0,1}".

Subject: District Page numbers
I have a query regarding district page numbers on a scanned image.
The page in question is 1936D4F0249, first Colum at the bottom
http://images.freebmd.org.uk/GUS/1936/Deaths/December/ANC-05/A-J/.
It appears there maybe a number missing?
How the page numbers be transcribed.
A, 3 underscore 3
Or
B, 3 blank 3
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Keith
