"(Male)" and "(Female)" are valid entries as far as the index is
concerned and turn up fairly often. Why shouldn't they be in the names
file?

First, thanks to the people who volunteered to help test the new WinBMD.
This for the moment (hopefully a shorr moment!) is delayed while I look
at
the bug.
Second, the problem with the brackets is a bug in WinBMD which I'm
fixing.
Entries such as these should not be appearing in the picklist, indeed
anything not starting with an alphabetic should not be in the picklist
and
they should not be going in the names file. Having got in the file
WinBMD
will never find them when they are typed a subsequent time and so they
will
go back in there again, and again, everytime you answer Yes to add it to
the
picklist. So please answer NO to that question for anything that
doesn't
start a-z or A-Z.
