Good instructions. You might play with the default settings a little. I like
a slightly larger thumbnail closer to 100. This is still small but any many
cases large enough that you don't have to click to see the larger. Download
speeds are improving and this still works well on a slow modem.

If you like the web design that Thumbsplus creates and they offer many
styles you can upload those to your Freepages. Usually in a subdirectory and
point your page to them.

Dear Rebecca,

I am the person who recommended ThumbsPlus to this list. I have not used
most of its features, but I did the following: click on "Thumbnails" and
then "Web Page Wizard." I don't remember the following steps in detail,
but I directed ThumbsPlus to a folder on my local disk where my *.gif and
*.jpg files are stored. I chose the default options. It made a complete
set of JPG thumbnails called tn_*_gif.jpg and tn_*_jpg.jpg corresponding to
the original *.gif and *.jpg respectively. It also created some HTML files
so you can view the thumbnails all together. I discarded the HTML files
and just FTP'd the tn_*_gif.jpg and tn_*_jpg.jpg to my public directory.

Follow this example to use the thumbnails. If you click on the thumbnail
picture tn_czdp1_gif.jpg, the big picture czdpl.gif appears.

A sample Web page using the thumbnails is at

me how to work it? I have about three pages of photos from 3 different
lines. This for my personal site. For the YORK researcher site (the URL
of YORK) I have a page of old photos I'd like to include - or just link the
two together.
