Good question! Possibly the counter only holds the computer ID in memory
for a measured amount of time?
Did you know you can check your counter without changing your count by going
to
http://counter.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/querycounter.cgi
Enter the "name" of your counter and you will be given the statistics for
that counter. You can also reset the counter from this URL.
