Before the RootsWeb servers were upgraded, I could search the Freepages-Help
archives by keyword to see if someone had posted a related item to the
forum. Or I could grab a quick lunchtime 'techie fix' at work by browsing
the not-yet-"digested" postings that I knew would be in my emailbox before
the end of the day (but by then I'd be otherwise engaged dragging kid #2
through his homework or mentally throwing darts at hubby as he camped out on
our only working Internet-connected computer).

Well, the hubby's laptop is back (old case--entirely new innards,
compliments of the manufacturer) and "Moo-cher", my birthday present,
hopefully will show up at the door any day now. But the Freepages-Help
'Search' at
http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/RootsWeb_Support/Freepages-Help.html
won't search beyond Feb 2001 (that's postings before the upgrade) and the
'Browse' gives that lovely "Check Back Soon!" page (I'm getting ready to
strangle that kid with the rope he's holding .... )

So what gives? Have those services been discontinued? Or am I not
sufficiently rewarding Pat for the <g>s she gives us? (a belated and
well-deserved congrats, Pat, on becoming the list-meister--I'm just now
plowing through the digests that have stacked up in my mailbox over the last
two months while I kept our remaining Internet link afloat and then reloaded
the laptop from scratch)
