I'm using FrontPage 2000 and I was told when I make a link to another page,
to click "other" on the hyperlink page, well there is no "other" on my
hyperlink page. What do I do?
-----
(From a FrontPage Express user) -

On your hyperlink properties page, is there a field named 'Hyperlink Type'
near your URL/URI field? In my FrontPage Express, the options for that field
are:

(other)
file:
ftp:
gopher:
http:
https:
mailto:
news:
telnet:
wais:

If you click the 'http:' menu option under 'Hyperlink Type', FP Express will
normally add the following code to your HTML - <.a
href="http://webpath/filename.htm">;

But if you click the '(other)' menu option under 'Hyperlink Type', FP
Express will instead add this code to your HTML - <.a href="filename.htm">.
If you're testing your HTML locally on your machine, your PC will look for
that hyperlinked file in the same local folder as the web page is located
which calls it. And if you're testing your HTML at FreePages, the FreePages
server will look for that hyperlinked file in the same web folder as the web
page is located which calls it.

What was causing your previous problem was that FP thought that, since you
were editing your files locally on your PC, you wanted your 'Hyperlink Type'
set to a local filepath (that is, <.a href=file:///C:....>)

I hope this explanation helps you.
