While I'm not suggesting that you stop using FrontPage 2000, you might want
to install an additional HTML editing program on your computer to help you
over programming rough spots and to perform FrontPage-less sanity checks on
your HTML. Some free HTML editors are listed at
<http://freepages.computers.rootsweb.com/~moorecrossing/edit-test.htm#editors>;.
Everyone's got their favorites, but AOLpress might be the easiest for you
to use as a second editor.

I use various HTML editors depending on the task at hand (those editors are:
1st Page 2000, Amaya, AOLpress, FrontPage Express, and the 'View | Source'
option in Internet Explorer, plus I use Netscape Navigator and WebTV Viewer
to check how different browsers render my code). The one reason I don't
sever my ties to FrontPage Express is that it does a good job of displaying
the table cell boundaries when the table border=0. That makes it great for
troubleshooting <.table><.tr><.td> ... <./td><./tr><./table> problems. While
Netscape Composer also displays cell boundaries, it adds "non-existent
lines" before and after each table, and I've found that can mask actual
blank lines which need to be deleted.
