Book scanning can be a job, but rewarding when it works. The following
worked for me on teacher contracts in a large ledger from the early 1900's:
I scanned the pages in 'grayscale', this gets rid of any yellowing of the
pages. I opened the scan in my photo imaging program and set the size to 7
inches width (with auto proportioning on, the height sets automatically). I
then copied the resized photo and pasted it into my web page. If you want
to see the results, go to:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~whitetwp/index.htm .
From the home page, go to 'Schools', from 'Schools', go to 'Teachers' and
click on the thumbnails. There is one or two pages that I forgot to scan as
grayscale and scanned as a black and white document, so if you look for it,
you can see the difference in yellowing.
