Malcolm,
I've successfully been uploading pictures lately with the file upload utility at the Freepages File Manager. Why don't you try that? I try to keep the images as small as I can and still have adequate resolution. - Don't forget to upload the small image for the thumbnail, too.

Am using Coffeecup HTML editor so should be easy, images show up when tested
in browser, am using windows 2000 proffessional
