Does anyone find that they get spam-type message from haaving their
addresses filched by spam harvesters from their genealogy sites here at
Freepages? If so, is it good to have another address just for your site?
Is there a way to avoid the spam, if you get it? I'm sitting behind a
pretty good firewall and I'm just looking to avoid problems.

Thanks! Y'all are great!

Hi Claire,
I haven't noticed more spam than the norm before Rootsweb myself. But thought
I also was behind a pretty good firewall. Keep up with the newest Anti-virus
software, etc. but was a bit surprised after going to http://grc.com/default
and having my shields and ports tested. Then did a leak test which is
excellent and despite all the precautions, found my puter to be not as
protected as I thought. Steve Gibson, a programmer and security specialist
for business's and govt. is the one that set up this site. Did a great job
there and is helpful to many of us.
Recommend you try it, or anyone that thinks they are protected totally, "like
I used to."
Best of luck.
Nancy
