Barbie, do you know what you want to do? Do you know how you want it to
look? The most important thing is your GOAL. Once you have decided where
to go, we can help you get there.
So go back to some of the pages you have bookmarked in the past, because
you LIKED them. Figure out WHY you liked them, and if you want to do
something like that on YOUR site. Get a rough idea of how you would like
your pages organized -- like a story, where you go from page one, to
two, to three? Like a wagon wheel, with a center page, linking to the
each of the spokes? Or more free-form, with one main page, leading to a
few sub-pages, which have their own sub-pages?
Are you going to focus on a book, cemetery listings, pictures? All of
these decisions will help us help you. While you are at some of those
pages you like so much, look at their source code, and see if you can
figure out how they did what you like so much.
If you haven't gone to some beginner's HTML sites, google a bit, and
find some. Do the first few lessons on some of them, and you'll find one
that you like -- go as far as is interesting. Don't worry, you'll be
back later, LOL!
