On the bottom tool bar that tells you what is open.
Right click on the icon you want to close and tell it to close.

Speaking of large pop up banners ---- has anyone had banners pop up that
hang off the edge of the screen. I have had quite a few in the last few
months and am unable to grab then to pull enough on the screen in order to
close it out. How can I close them out without shutting down my system?

About the sound------------ I am another one who gets off the site pretty
darn fast as it is annoying to me to have sound interupt me. Just my
personality I guess but it is almost like a salesman calling. :)
