There are loads of good sites that offer free backgrounds, but it would be
impossible to decide what you would like without you giving some indication
of what you are looking for.

A background is, of course, just an image. At it's simplest:
<.body background="017.jpg">

If you can't find one you like you can easily create your own!

If you are artistic you can design your own using programmes such as MSPaint.

Using a scanner you can create wonderful backgrounds from ordinary household
objects by scanning things such as scrunched up paper or food wrappings,
leather, cotton-wool, lumps of wood, off-cuts of material or wallpaper or
carpet, the non-printed bits of book-covers or magazines etc., etc., etc.,
all of which can be pulled, pushed, inverted, faded or otherwise changed and
enhanced in most graphic editing programmes to such an extent that they are
no longer copyright (or recognisable as copyright) material
WARNING -do not try to get brick, stone or sand effects by using the
originals - I ruined the glass of one scanner doing sand:-((

You could also draw your own background using simple kids paint, pencils or
crayons and scan them.

So! if you can't find what you like, why not have a go at making what you
like?

All the best

Alwyn
