I recently finished a transcription of an anniversary book to a separate
section of my genealogy site at rootsweb

and seem to be having trouble with the photos. The photos were published in
a softbound book in 1975 and are all black an white. I've scanned most of
them at 100 dpi, the lowest resolution on my scanner, and uploaded them to
my directory, when viewing them on my pages, they seem to have a waffle
effect. How can I fix that?
